FAQ

What is shilajit?

A resin that collects in cracks in high mountain rock. Plant matter, pressed and changed by time and pressure, pushed out of the stone by summer heat. It is scraped by hand, washed, dried and jarred. Ours comes from the Altai.

That is the full description. What it is, where it came from, and what the laboratory found in it — those are the three things we can put in writing, so those are the three things we publish.

How do I use it?

One level scoop — 0.5 g — stirred into something warm. Water, tea, milk. Stir until it has gone.

It will not dissolve in cold water. It will sit at the bottom and look at you. Once a day, and do not exceed that amount.

What does it taste like?

Bitter, smoky, mineral. Nobody drinks it for the taste. If you have ever left black tea brewing far too long and drunk it anyway, you are close.

How long does one jar last?

Thirty grams at half a gram a day is sixty days. Two months, one jar.

Why does it cost €49?

Because of what happens before the jar is filled.

Every batch goes to an accredited laboratory in Tartu before any of it is sold. Heavy metals, microbiology, water activity. We also buy small, and small is expensive. The price is not a position. It is arithmetic, and you can see most of it on the certificate page.

What does "tested" actually mean here?

It means a laboratory that does not work for us tested the resin that is in your jar, and you can read the numbers.

Not the supplier's resin in general. Not a sample from last year. Your batch, with its number, on its own page, with its own results.

Most brands show you a badge. A badge is a picture.

How do I know the certificate belongs to my jar?

The batch number is printed on your label, and the same number is on the page the code opens. Scan it and compare the two.

If they do not match, something has gone wrong and we want to hear about it before you use the jar.

Is this a medicine?

No. It is a food supplement, not a medicine, and we make no claims about what it does. A food supplement does not replace a varied and balanced diet.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication, ask a doctor before adding anything new. That goes for everything, not only this.

Where does it come from?

The Altai mountains. Our supplier harvests and processes it there. We test it again here, in Estonia, before any of it is sold.

Both sets of results are on the certificate page, labelled so you can tell which is which. Supplier testing is useful. It is not the same thing as independent testing, and we do not pretend otherwise.

Can I send it back?

Yes — fourteen days, no reason needed, as long as the seal across the lid is unbroken.

Once that seal is broken it is opened food, and no shop anywhere can resell that. Full detail in the returns policy.

If it arrived damaged or wrong, the seal does not matter. Send a photograph and we fix it.

Where do you deliver?

Estonia, to your address. Free, dispatched within one working day, and in Estonia that usually means it is with you the next day.

Not further yet. The first batch is small and we would rather serve one country properly.
